A HORRIFYING picture of a 16-year old girl of Mtendere East who was murdered in what is believed to have been a love affair gone bad has filtered through.
Yesterday, police spokesperson Esther Katongo revealed that officers have arrested Crispin Kawanga, 32, of Lusaka’s Mtendere East in connection with the gruesome murder of his 16-year old girlfriend, Gertrude Lungu.
Gertrude was reported missing by her father, Simon Lungu, to Kalikiliki police post on Sunday, April 19, 2020.
Investigations led to officers to a traditional healer in the same area who confirmed that Kawanga had gone to him seeking help after he had killed someone.
Upon interrogation, Kawanga confessed to murdering his girlfriend and led the police officers to Salama Park where he dumped the body in a drainage after putting it in a sack.
The body was found in a decomposed state.
