HH THREATENS TO SUE MPIKA DC

By Scoop Reporter

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema has threatened to take legal action against Mpika District Commissioner, Moses Katebe for engineering the cancellation of his paid for radio programme on Mpika Radio yesterday.

Yesterday, Mr. Katebe allegedly ordered Mpika Community Radio Station not to host Mr. Hichilema on a paid for program in unexplained circumstances, forcing the station to refund the money paid by the opposition leader.

Last evening, Mr. Hichilema took to social media to complain against the decision by the DC saying his party was denied its right to engage with the people of Muchinga Province.

He says he is consulting with his legal team to understand which powers Mr. Katebe used and how the party can proceed to correct his behaviour.

“We have been denied our right of expression to talk to our people in Muchinga Province through a paid for program on Mpika Radio by the PF through their DC, Moses Katebe, a civil servant. We are consulting our legal team to understand which powers he used and how we will proceed to correct this behaviour.

“In the meantime, abena Muchinga mwisakamana we will soon get back to you. Mulibantu besu. Nga bena Zambia, you have the right to listen to your leaders and anyone stopping us interacting with you on radio does not love you,” Mr. Hichilema said.
