GOLDEN Vocals, a Seventh-Day Adventist Church singing group based in Lusaka, has lost its prolific and lead soprano, Mary Mwanja.

According to information obtained by The Scoop this morning, Ms. Mwanja died today around 03:00 at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) where she has been admitted for some time now with low BP complications.

And announcing the development on their Facebook wall, the group expressed shock over the death of their member, whom they describe as a soldier of the cross.

“When the psalmist David says, ” Joy cometh in the morning,” it is not so for the Golden Vocals who have woken up to saddening news of the loss of one of its family members and lead soprano Mary Mwanja aka Little Marr.

“No words can express the deep sorrow, loss and gap left both as a lead singer, friend and family. Our hearts are filled with sorrow for the loss of this gallant soldier of the cross and can’t be expressed in any language.

“We are left with a message as we continue our self-introspection about our readiness for the kingdom to come in some of the songs she led such as “Bamba Moyo Wako Jesu anjile. Indeed we are coworker in the Lord’s vineyard as she led the song “Nkamusebenzele Mwami wangu.”

“Go well little Mary. Go well Child of The Most High God. We pray to meet on that Glorious morning where death will lose its victory,” reads the update on the Golden Vocals’ wall.
