LESOTHO EXTENDS SEASON DUE TO COVID-19 SCARE

By Scoop Reporter

THE Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) has extended its league for the 2019/20 season until July 31, 2020.

According to a press release by LeFA through its Secretary General this afternoon which was obtained by The Scoop, the decision was made today after its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at which the resolution was passed to extend the season.

“The NEC is committed to finding ways of resuming the 2019/20 football season that was suspended in March due to the Corona Virus pandemic and ensuring that all domestic matches are played as soon as it is safe and possible to do so.

“LeFA calls on the players and referees to start with their individual training as it explores means to complete the 2019/20 Season. The Clubs are advised to ensure that their players adhere to strict measures of individual training as any player who is registered with any club that participates in any of the leagues under the auspices of LeFA will be suspended indefinitely for breaking the directives of the Association. The same will apply to the referees as well,” reads the release in part.
