THE United Party for National Development (UPND) in Eastern Province has suffered a big blow as 300 of its members have defected to the ruling Patriotic Front (PF).
Welcoming the defectors on Monday, provincial youth chairperson Emmanuel Jay Banda said the PF is a party of everyone for because its leaders are there to save the people as compared to other leaders from the opposition whom he says are power hungry.
Mr. Banda took advantage of the event to warn UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema to tame his “hired fake prophet Seer 1” who he says has been insulting President Edgar Lungu.
He says youths from Eastern Province will not sit idle and watch President Lungu being insulted by selfish politicians who are power hungry.
“If the UPND president doesn’t do something about this, we will match direct to their secretariat and Nigerian embassy to express our displeasure towards the barbaric act of the said prophet,” Mr. Banda said.
