I WILL work together with other stakeholders to ensure that we bring investors that will add value to our natural resources and create jobs for our youths, newly appointed Patriotic Front central committee chairperson-industries Elizabeth Phiri has said.
Ms. Phiri, who is also Gender Minister, was today appointed as member of the PF central committee as well as chairperson for industry.
In her maiden interview in her new role as part central committee chairperson-industries, Ms. Phiri says she will not disappoint the appointing authority by working together with other stakeholders in line with the party constitution.
She said just like President Edgar Lungu has consistently called for industrialisation in Zambia, she will work hard to ensure that dream is actualised because the country is endowed with a lot of natural resources which need value addition.
“We have a lot of natural resources that we need to add value to. As Government and the party, our interest is to see that our youths are provided with employment. Working together with other stallholders, we will make sure that we bring in investors in these industries that will add value to our natural resources and create jobs for our youths.
“As a party, we have a duty because there is industrialisation that HE the President has been singing about and it is upon me and the committee that will be there to see to it that we actualize the dreams of President to Lungu,” Ms. Phiri said.
She has thanked the appointing authority and hopes she will not let the President down.
“I know as PF we have a manifesto that has to be followed. I will work with all the stakeholders to see that we improve on our industries. As Kanyama constituency, we are housing a lot of industries and all we need to do is to improve and create jobs,” she said.
