…… Parliamentary hopeful, Crawford Mukando, says last-minute donations won’t save the incumbent in 2021

INDEPENDENT Aspiring parliamentary candidate for Chitambo, Crawford Mukando, has urged people in the area to properly scrutinise the caliber of people contesting and re-contenting for the position of Member of Parliament.
Commenting on the last hour donations and appeasements allegedly done by the incumbent MP, Chanda Mutale, Mr. Mukando holds a different opinion and advises the area MP to bring capital projects to Chitambo district and stop the donations.
Mr. Mukando has appealed to people in Chitambo to vote wisely next year, and has advised Mr. Mutale to lobby for projects from Government and stop wasting his money on donations, in the name of wooing support.
“You’re just wasting your money by donating. This is why a lot of former MP’s are broke because they fail to realize that their relevance is gone. So instead of saving part of their money, they want to risk by making last-hour donations and desperately initiate projects.
“I mean, what can you do in 13 months to change the dynamics that you did not change in four years? I wonder what sort of reasoning that is,” Mr. Mukando said.
He has pledged support to work with the people of Chitambo but says it is up to them to wake up and realize that a genuine leader who wants to serve his people does not just focus on giving handouts and donations.
“All the MPs in other constituencies are lobbying for funding from the central Government and they are given capita projects. But if we make a mistake of re-electing Mr. Mutale, we shall not benefit from the Government projects as Chitambo constituency,” he maintains.
