….As he appoints Davies Chama, Elizabeth Phiri to the Central Committee

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has appointed Defence Minister, Davies Chama, as Patriotic Front deputy national chairperson while Gender Minister, Elizabeth Phiri has been appointed as member of central committee and chairperson for industries.
In a statement this afternoon, PF Secretary General Davies Mwila says Mr. Chama will deputise party national chairperson Samuel Mukupa.
Mr. Mwila has congratulated the duo on their respective appointments and called upon the rank and file of the party membership countrywide to give them optimum support.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mwila has assured Zambians that Government remains committed to fighting challenges facing the citizens especially in the midst of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) outbreak.
He says it is time for citizens put their hands on deck both at home and in the diaspora as the country navigates through these turbulences adding that tough times don’t last.
“On behalf of the party, let me thank the Zambian people for the continued support and solidarity even amidst very challenging situations such as the climate change induced electricity load shedding.
“The challenges on our people have also been aggravated by the disruption to their livelihoods by the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 pandemic,” Mr. Mwila said.
