GOVERNMENT says it is looking to for more Japanese investment in the tourism sector through gastronomy.
Speaking at his office this morning when Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ryuta Mizuuchi paid a courtesy call on him, Tourism and Arts Minister Ronald Chitotela said there is need for more Japanese people to set up businesses like restaurants to attract more people from country to visit Zambia.
Mr. Chitotela says gastronomy is one of the catalysts for Japanese tourists to come to Zambia.
He says Government has planned a number of tourism programmes between Zambia and Japan that have a great potential to strengthen the already bilateral relations between the two countries.
And Ambassador Mizuuchi says his embassy would like to work with various Government ministries to achieve good number of Japanese arrivals to Zambia.
Ambassador Mizuuchi says during his tour of duty, he would work at promoting and marketing Zambia to the Japanese people thereby bringing investments that will be beneficial to the growth of the tourism sector.
The envoy says he would like to have more Japanese people know about the tourism offing in Zambia and as result invest in the country.
He says he had already visited the Victoria Falls and would not mind going back there but would like to visit more other tourist sites especially in the Northern Tourism Circuit.
