POLICE in Lusaka have busted a criminal syndicate in which gangs have been terrorizing residents of Meanwood where they have been stealing things which they later transported to their “camps” in the thicket between Airport road and Vorna Valley.
Police acting spokesperson Danny Mwale says the thieves have been keeping stolen property in these camps after stealing them before transporting them for sale.
Mr. Mwale says officers today invaded the said camps and arrested one criminal while two others are on the run.
“These are camps for criminals who have been terrorizing Meanwood in Lusaka. They are constructed in the Airport bush located between Airport road and Vorna Valley.
“Whenever they steal, they take the stolen items to the same bush and hide them then later transport and sale them. One male suspect identified as Kalunga Ngesa aged 43 of Kamanga compound has been apprehended while two are on the run,” Mr. Mwale said.
