By Scoop Reporter

ALL contacts to the COVID-19 case recorded at the Ministry of Tourism yesterday have been sent home and asked to be in self-quarantine.

Yesterday, a COVID-19 case was recorded at Kwacha House which houses the Ministry of Tourism and the entire building is undergoing fumigation by the Ministry of Health.

Ministry of Tourism Public Relations Officer Sakabilo Kalembwe has told The Scoop that the ministry has asked all close contacts to go into self-quarantine.

Mr. Kalembwe says Permanent Secretary, Auxilia Ponga, has called on members of staff at the ministry to strictly adhere to Health guidelines stipulated by the Ministry of Health following this case.

“In view of the case that was confirmed yesterday, the PS has asked members of staff that had been working closely with the victim to stay home for self-quarantine and ensure that they wear facemasks, hand sanitize and observe social distance.

“Currently the Ministry is working with the Ministry of Health to fumigate Kwacha House and ensure that all members of staff are safe from COVID-19 as they return for work. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world from business as usual to what is now being called the “New Normal” Mr. Kalembwe said.
