ZAMBIA Soccer League (ZSL) giants Nkana and Zanaco tomorrow take to the turf at Nkana stadium in a match of mixed fortunes as the Kitwe giants will be looking to sneaking into the top four brackets.
Should Nkana win this match, they will gallop to the second position from the 5th they are currently occupying, and will go level on points with leaders Forest Rangers but may be separated by an inferior goal difference.
Zanaco missed the chance to rise on the table when Forest Rangers failed to pitch up at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium last Saturday as some of its players and club staff reportedly tested positive to COVID-19, forcing the cancellation of the match at the last minute.
A win will push the Bankers up to seventh position with 38 points from the 35 they currently have, ahead of Red Arrows and Kabwe Warriors, together with Power Dynamos who also returned from the COVID-19 hiatus with a disappointing 1-all draw against Kansanshi Dynamos last week.
Zanaco and Nkana last played each other in the league on January 15, 2020 in an ill-tempered match played at the Sunset stadium at which Nkana lost 2-1 with Ernest Mbewe finding the back of the net with only seven minutes played before Kebson Kamanga doubled the lead when he swept a delightful free kick, nine minutes into the second half.
Nkana found their consolation goal through Fred Tshimenga with 65 minutes played after being put through by Martin Dzillah with a backheel flick.
