WE are saddened by the untimely death of Chief Mwanachingwala who collapsed at his farm and was pronounced dead at Mazabuka general Hospital, the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in Southern Province has said.
In a statement to The Scoop this morning, provincial Information and Publicity Secretary (IPS) Trymore Mwenda said the death of the traditional leader has come as a shock to the party.
Mr. Mwenda says this is because he was one of the traditional leaders in Southern Province who had a cordial working relationship with the party and had an open-door policy towards engagement in developmental projects for his subjects.
“We send our condolences to his family and the people of Southern Province as a whole during this trying moment even as we join them in mourning our father who stood as a pillar of unity.
“On another sad note, we are shocked to learn of National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) Southern Province chairperson Sylvester Simayaba’s death. This is quite devastating news at a time when we need vibrant politicians to guide the nation. We pray the bereaved family will find solace in the Almighty God,” Mr. Mwenda said.
