POLICE have warned and cautioned Charles Siamutwa for giving false information to a public officer.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo says it is alleged that in 2019 a client engaged Mr. Siamutwa of Messrs Charles Siamutwa Legal Practitioners to represent him in a dispute involving the purchase and shareholding of Ultimate Insurance Company Ltd.
Ms. Katongo says Mr. Siamutwa is alleged to have organized two lawyers to represent the previous shareholders and Ultimate Insurance in filling in a Consent Judgement in the High Court of Zambia Commercial Registry on 29th May, 2019.
“It later turned out that the person that Charles Siamutwa organized to sign on behalf of Imasiku & Company was not a lawyer and that the law firm Imasiku & Company was at the material time had been declared insolvent.
“Charles Siamutwa has been warned and cautioned for the offence of giving false information to a public officer. He is in police custody,” Ms. Katongo said.
