STANCHART ZAMBIA CELEBRATES FIRST DIGITAL BANKING ANNIVERSARY

By Scoop Reporter

THIS month, Standard Chartered Bank celebrates one year of the first-ever digital bank in Zambia.

The Bank’s Head of Retail Banking for Zambia and Southern Africa DeepPal Singh said;

“Since the launch of Zambia’s first-ever digital bank last year, we have seen over two hundred and twenty thousand clients (220,000) download our SC Mobile App from the comfort of their homes or indeed their offices.

We are also proud that over 76 percent of our clients have actively been utilising our digital platforms to transact. This demonstrates how as a bank we have helped to serve our clients digitally, which is important especially in the wake of the COVID -19 pandemic.”

He added, “We continue to urge clients and the public to take advantage of our world class, award-winning SC App to open their digital accounts, end-to-end within 15 minutes and enjoy over 70 banking services on offer via the App.”

As part of the 1-year celebrations, Standard Chartered has rolled out an additional feature on the SC Mobile App, which allows clients to refer friends or family to open a bank account digitally via the SC Mobile App.

Existing clients who refer two people (such as friends or family members) to open a digital account will earn a cashback reward. The more clients they refer, the more cash reward they earn.

“We believe this offer is just one way of saying thank you to our clients for their commitment to the digital bank over the last 1 year.

“We urge all our clients to stay safe and continue to bank using our digital platforms. The Bank re-affirmed its commitment to stay in constant touch with its clients and supporting them through this challenging period, he said.
