THE sudden firing of David Mabumba from his position as Minister of General Education by President Edgar Lungu is more devastating his soul than what really meets the eye but he still needed a second chance, governance activist Crawford Mukando has said.
Mr. Mukando has told The Scoop that he does not support the firing of Mr. Mabumba because other ministers such as Ronald Chitotela and Chitalu Chilufya are still serving despite their names being dented with alleged scandalous corruption cases.
“I say so because much as society perceives that Mr. Mabumba’s case is self-explanatory, both scenarios stand out to be moral issues.
“An immoral leader is not just defined by sexual scandals. Being corrupt is far much more immoral than even sexual infidelity related issues. We all have weaknesses and skeletons within our closets,” Mr. Mukando said.
He says the Patriotic Front (PF) is at a very critical moment prior to the convention and the 2021 elections which come within the next 12 months.
