A MALE juvenile aged nine years has died in Monze District today around 08:30 in an accident involving an oxcart which happened in Moonga Village in Chief Chongo.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo identified as Alick Hasumbwe of Kwanu Village, Chief Choongo, Monze District.
Ms. Katongo says the accident happened when an ox driven cart, on which the victim was, hit onto a stone and overturned, causing the deceased to die on the spot.
“The body of the deceased has been deposited in Monze Mission hospital mortuary,” Ms. Katongo said.
Meanwhile, Ms. Katongo says police in Lusaka have arrested one person in connection with the suspected murder of Alice Nyangu, 35, of Bauleni Compound.
She says police received a report of suspected murder in which Olipa Sibanda, 40, reported that her niece (Alice Nyangu) was found dead in her house around 11:00 yesterday.
“The scene was visited and police suspect the victim to have been murdered as bruises were found on her left eye among other injuries. Preliminary investigations have indicated that the victim had fought with her boyfriend in the night of August 1, 2020 at unknown time.
“The body is in UTH mortuary awaiting postmortem. One suspect has been picked by police. Investigations have continued,” she said.
