COPPERBELT PF EMBRACES THE CROSS FOR GUIDANCE

By Scoop Reporter

THE Patriotic Front (PF) on the Copperbelt says it appreciates the role the church continues to play in education, health, and national politics by offering spiritual guidance.

Speaking as guest of honour at the Ndeke Zone Pastors’ Fellowship on Tuesday, Copperbelt Province PF chairperson Nathan Chanda said the party will continue to offer support to the church because it is an important stakeholder in national development.

“As PF and specifically my office, we will continue to ensure there is necessary support given to the church in its delivery of spiritual and social services to the Community.

“The Church constituency is bigger than the political constituency because the former has a membership across all political party lines. Therefore, we continue to respect and honour the pivotal role the church plays in our society and as a party, we will work hand in hand with you,” Mr. Chanda said.

He says engagement is important and that under the 7th National Development Plan, the church is recognised as a key player, which is the reason President Edgar Lungu encourages continued dialogue and engagement at every level of leadership.

He has asked the church to continue praying for all political party leaders so that Zambia remains a Christian nation which enjoys peace, as well as praying for President Lungu for wisdom as he governs the country.

He also implored the church to continue sensitising the members on the various COVID-19 health guidelines enshrined in Statutory Instruments (SI) 21, 22 and 23 such as hand washing, sanitizing, wearing of masks, maintaining social distance, among others.
