THE Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines-Investments Holdings Plc (ZCCM-IH) has rubbished assertions that Ndola Lime Company Limited has been sold to Global Human Benefit Zambia Limited (GHBZ).
GHBZ is a Zambian based Investment Company that promotes clean energy solutions in Africa.
ZCCM-IH Public Relations Manager Loisa Mbatha-Kakoma yesterday said ZCCM is aware of an article that appeared on the GHBZ website purporting that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between GHBZ and ZCCM-IH for the sale of a 65 percent stake and the takeover of Ndola Lime Company Ltd by GHBZ at the end of August 2020.
Ms. Mbatha-Kakoma says the information is false and that the said article has since been pulled down by GHBZ but that ZCCM-IH may take appropriate action against the company over the published misinformation.
“ZCCM-IH wishes to dispel this false information and unequivocally state that it has not signed any MOU with GHBZ or any other company for the sale of any stake in Ndola Lime.
“Therefore, we would like to urge all stakeholders to ignore the article, and to treat it with the contempt it deserves as it is false. We have since engaged GHBZ, who have taken down the said false article from their website, and ZCCM-IH reserves its right to take appropriate action should it deem fit,” Ms. Mbatha-Kakoma said.
