EMBRACING the new normal should not be misconstrued to mean putting our guard down against COVID-19, President Edgar Lungu has said.
President Lungu says as people are working hard to ensure that they have food to feed themselves, it is important that in the process of doing so, they do not endanger their lives as a result of the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic.
He says all businesses that have been allowed to resume operations must ensure that they adhere to all public health guidelines.
“Therefore, as we make our noble efforts to put bread and butter on our tables, let us not do so in ways which endanger our lives and the lives of our loved ones. In this regard, I am urging you all, institutions and businesses that have been permitted to resume their operations, to continue adhering strictly to Public Health Regulations, Guidelines and Certification vis-à-vis COVID-19.
“When we do our part, the living GOD who guided our forefathers will also guide us in our current endeavours, towards a healthier and more prosperous Zambia for all. We are a nation of overcomers. We are a nation of faith,” President Lungu said.
