LUNGU DATES THE COPPERBELT

By Bennie Mundando

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu today dates the Copperbelt Province on a two-day working visit where he is expected to inspect developmental projects and hold meetings with the clergy and the business community.

Posting on his Facebook wall yesterday, President Lungu said while in the province, he will inspect the progress made on the construction of the Kafulafuta Dam in Masaiti District.

“Once completed, the Dam will improve the water supply and benefit over one million of our citizens in Ndola and the surrounding towns of Luanshya, Masaiti and parts of Mpongwe. My Government has demonstrated its unwavering dedication to accelerating universal access to clean and safe water, as well as access to sanitation in line with the vision 2030 targeting 100 percent access to water and sanitation.

“I will meet the clergy as they play a critical role in the life of the nation. This meeting will also table some of the challenges faced by the clergy as they carry out God’s work. I also look forward to an interactive session with the business community in Ndola to chat the way forward on how to address challenges affecting commerce and trade in the district especially amidst COVID-19,” President Lungu said.
