COPPERBELT PF LEADERSHIP IMPRESSES LUNGU

By Bennie Mundando

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu yesterday said was going back to Lusaka a happy man as he is highly impressed with the Patriotic Front (PF) leadership on the Copperbelt.

President Lungu said this after he toured the PF Copperbelt Convention Centre in Ndola yesterday afternoon.

“The PF on the Copperbelt, are an inspiration. Well done. This is how it should be. The PF leadership on the Copperbelt is impressive. Well organised and read to work. These are people we need to incorporate in the nation leadership and Government. In February 2018, we were here to launch foundation stone at this facility, and today this work done is so impressive.

“This is very inspirational. I was sad when l inspected some government projects, but am now going back very happy. I am very delighted with what you have done. I can see that you have serious people that can provide leadership even at national level. Am very impressed,” President Lungu said.

And President Lungu expressed concern as to why engineers are failing Government projects but doing very well on private projects.

President Lungu said he will engage the Engineering Institution of Zambia this week to find out why the trend is so.

“Why Government projects are failing and the private sector is progressing. Government projects are failing and the private projects are progressing. Why the EIZ has unpatriotic attitude. I want to promise that we will look for money so that by December this project should be commissioned,” he said.

And PF provincial chairperson Nathan Chanda says the PF convention centre will be named after President Lungu because of his massive support and contribution to the party, the works on the convention center, and the country at large.

“With the power vested in me as Provincial Chairman, this place will be called the Edgar Chagwa Lungu PF Convention Centre. This is because of the massive work that the President has done for the Centre, the party, Copperbelt and the country at large.

“We went to put a youth resource centre so that we can have access to the youth empowerment which you have given to the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Child Development for the Zambian youth,” Mr. Chanda said.
