….. Body found with bruises but guards claim they only poured water on him

POLICE in Lusaka are investigating a case of suspected murder in which an unknown male adult aged between 30 and 40 years who is alleged to have been found trespassing at Healing Word Ministry in Kabulonga has died.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo says according to two security guards who were working in the night at the church premises, they came across a stranger who could not explain his presence at the said premises.
Ms. Katongo says the two security guards claimed they then tied his legs with his belt and poured cold water on him and was later discovered dead.
“This is reported to have happened in the early hours of today, 18th October, 2020 between 01:50 hours and 05:40 hours at the said premises.
“The body of the deceased was found with some bruises on the hands and the face looked swollen. The two security guards whose names we have withheld are detained in police custody. An inquiry has been launched. The body is in UTH mortuary awaiting postmortem,” Ms. Katongo said.
