The Zambia National Soccer team is tomorrow expected in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for friendly matches with Ethiopia and Sudan.
Zambia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Emmanuel Mwamba and Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary Adrian Kashala confirmed the development.
And Ethiopian Football federation President Esayas Jira has confirmed that all preparations for both matches have been completed.
Jira says the Walia Ibex are ready to battle with the Chipolopolo boys while Mwamba said the friendly matches will go a long way in cementing bilateral relations especially that both Ethiopia and Sudan are under the mission’s accreditation.
Mwamba has also urged the Zambian community in Addis Ababa to turn and support the National team while observing COVID-19 guidelines.
Meanwhile, Kashala says as soon as the team arrives, they will have light training on Thursday before the match in the afternoon.
The team will play Ethiopia on Thursday, October 22, 2020 and Sudan on Sunday, October 26, 2020. This is contained in a statement released by first secretary for press and tourism at the Zambian Embassy in Addis Ababa, Inutu Mupango Mwanza.
