ZDDM WEIGHS IN ON ALLEGED POLICE BRUTALITY

By Bennie Mundando

THE Zambia Direct Democracy Movement (ZDDM) has condemned what he terms as police brutality on defenseless women and general citizenry, saying the rot must immediately come to an end.

ZDDM vice president Charles Kafumbo says the outrageous, brutal, and unprofessional manhandling of National Democratic Congress (NDC) conduct president Chishimba Kambwili’s wife Carol and daughter Chanda, is not only unfortunate, but unbecoming behavior of the police in the country and must be stopped.

Mr. Kafumbo alleges that Zambia has just slid into a police state where any dissenting view is met with heavy police brutality where the citizenry who enjoyed their rights and freedoms are now scared.

“This is unacceptable and must be rejected. The manhandling of Ms. Kambwili must be condemned by Vice President Inonge Wina, First lady Ester Lungu and Religious Affairs Minister Godfridah Sumaili. Zambia is a democratic Christian nation,” Mr. Kafumbo said.
