KUNGO ‘DISRUPTS’ UPND CELEBRATIONS ON BILL 10

By Bennie Mundando

FORMER North Western Province Patriotic Front (PF) provincial chairperson Jackson Kungo says the collapse of the 2019 Bill 10 is an eye opener for Zambians to see the leaders of opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) for who they are.

Mr Kungo says it is unfortunate that UPND president Hakainde Hichilema and his Members of Parliament (MPs) celebrated the fall off of Bill 10 which was meant to champion the rights of the vulnerable especially the women and youths.

He adds that the fall off of Bill 10 does not in any way increase the chances of UPND winning the 2021 general elections.

Mr Kungo says it is also unreasonable for the opposition to think the death of Bill 10 will stop President Edgar Lungu from contesting next years elections.

He says will be interesting to hear what the UPND Members of Parliament will tell the vulnerable about the collapse of the bill which was going to allow the delimitation exercise hence bringing development close to the people.
