OPPOSITION political parties have continued to render themselves irrelevant and uninspiring in the country’s democratic dispensation based on their lack of clear direction and stance on a number of crucial national matters, the Patriotic Front (PF) in Southern Province has said.
Provincial chairperson Lawrence Evans today said listening to the opposition speak on national matters, one could clearly pick the lack of depth and understanding of Government procedures and processes.
Mr. Evans said that lack of understanding was accompanied by inconsistency tendencies of flip flopping based on the principle of opposing everything devoid of any critical analysis where anything from Government was painted black.
“We find this approach as an insult to the collective wisdom of the Zambian people whom the opposition wish could vote for them in this year’s August 12 election based on their flip flopping messages which do not address anything but are meant for self preservation.
“As a ruling party in the Province it is based on this confusion in the opposition and not knowing what their role is that we continue to state that currently no political party other than the PF offers Zambians hope of a bright future premised on tried and tested leadership,” Mr. Evans said.
“We have no doubt Zambians know that the PF party genuinely carries their aspirations unlike these others that speak just to appease the citizens with far fetched dream promises which are unattainable as being in government deals with reality while the opposition can only afford to deal with illusions.
“We urge the good people of Southern Province not to fall for empty promises from the opposition lacking clearly spelt out road maps especially this year of elections but give the PF under the leadership of His Excellency President, Edgar Lungu a fresh mandate to continue delivering development in the Province and across the country,” he said.
He said a lot has been achieved under PF in Southern Province and that a lot more will be done this year and beyond as the PF Government was set to receive a fresh mandate from Zambians to stir the country to greater heights.
