IMPROVED WATER RETICULATION CHEERS MWATA KAZEMBE

Government has released funds for the expansion and rehabilitation of water and sewerage infrastructure in Mwansabombwe, Nchelenge and Chienge districts.

And Mwata Kazembe of the Lunda speaking people is gratified with the government’s determination to improve the water reticulation system.

About K10 million has been allocated to Nchelenge and Chienge districts for expansion and rehabilitation of water and sewerage infrastructure while Mwansabombwe has been given K800,000 for upgrading the water and sanitation infrastructure.

The project once completed is expected to benefit over thousand of residents.

Minister of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection, Raphael Nakacinda, revealed this when he paid a courtesy call on the Mwata in Mwansabombwe this morning.

“President Edgar Lungu has categorically indicated his desire to ensure people have access to safe and clean water hence this huge investment,” Mr. Nakacinda said.

Mr. Nakacinda says Government will not in this era subject it’s people to drinking untreated water.

The Mwata praised government for timely responding to emergencies.

Mwata Kazembe cited the repairing of the water tank in Mwansabombwe by the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit.

“This action shows that government is committed to responding to emergencies that boarder on the welfare of people,” the Mwata says.

He has urged the Patriotic Front administration to be consistent with development despite having elections.

Mr. Nakacinda is in the northern circuit to familiarize himself with water infrastructure projects.
