VERIFY YOUR VOTER DETAILS, PLEADS SACCORD

The Southern African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) has pleaded with registered voters to ensure that they verify their voter details to avoid being disfranchised in the August general elections.  

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has set aside, the voter verification exercise which started on March 29, 2021 and is scheduled to end tomorrow, April 2, 2021, giving a total of five days for the whole process.

SACCORD Executive Director Boniface Cheembe today urged all voters who have either verified through electronic means or not to go out and physically verify their voter details.

“SACCORD has taken note of the physical voter verification process that the electronic process may not allow one to verify the correctness of your picture, but the physical verification will assist you identify your correct portrait and your unique particulars.

“We appeal to all Zambians to take advantage of the allocated (5) days to avoid being disenfranchised by going out to physically verify voter details. It is now only through voter verification that will allow all voters to come out and vote in numbers come August 12, 2021 general elections as this provides a correct record of voter details,” Mr. Cheembe said. .
