Zambia U20 Men’s National Team coach Chisi Mbewe has named his final 20-man squad for the TotalEnergies AFCON U20 Egypt 2023 COSAFA Qualifier that will run from October 7-16 in Eswatini.
Midfielder Joseph Sabobo Banda has made the final list alongside seven other U17 graduates who were instrumental to Zambia’s qualification to the U17 Africa Cup of Nations that was eventually cancelled due to COVID-19 in 2021.
ZESCO United midfielder Songa Chipyoka, FC MUZA striker Rickson Ng’ambi and Green Eagles’ Derrick Bulaya lead a host of players from the MTN Super League teams.
Zambia will begin their Group A campaign against Mauritius at the Somhlolo Stadium on 7 October before facing hosts Eswatini two days later. They will wrap-up their group affair at Mavuso stadium against Botswana on 11 October.
