PAMELA CHISUMPA RESCUED WITH 12 OTHERS

POLICE in Lusaka have rescued Pamela Chisumpa, the mobile money booth operator who was abducted months ago together with 12 other ladies that were held captive in a house in Chalala area of Lusaka.

This was after a tip off from a man where one the girls went to seek help after she escaped from captive.

Pamela Chisumpa 22 has been missing since 13th April, 2022.

Details are that on the material date around 14:00 hours at Shoprite trading area along Cairo Road, the victim was at her Airtel booth when two male persons went to her booth and pretended to be customers wanting to transact money.

Later on, the duo was seen moving with her across Cairo Road and that was the last time she was seen.

Inspector General of Police Lemmy Kajoba said one of the suspects has been apprehended and he is in police custody to help with Investigations.

“With a sense of relief, I would like to inform the nation through you the press that today the 3rd October, 2022 we have managed to safely Pamela Chisumpa together with 12 other ladies that were held captive in a house in Chalala area of Lusaka,” Mr Kajoba said.

The twelve female victims are female Juvenile aged 17, Grace Siabeula aged 22, Felistus Hachintu aged 18, Ruth Banda aged 21, Nalukui Macwani aged 21 and Agness Kapwaya aged 21. Others are Docus Chungwe aged 24, Priscila Mapulanga aged 23, Honester Lungu aged 25, Rosemary Chibwe 25, Faith Muluti aged 28, and Paxina Chanda aged 22.

Mr Kajoba said this was after a long protracted investigation that the police continuously pursued since April this year when she was abducted along Cairo road in Lusaka.

“All the victims have been taken to a medical facility for quick Medical attention.

We would like to call for calm amongst the general public as we wait for the victims to recuperate and further our investigations. A comprehensive statement will be issued in due course,” he said.

    This is good news!
    However, police must pull up their socks.
    Further, this indicates that there are lot more out there who are probably going through this and the country is not aware.
    Security should be intensified.
