IT is an unacceptable for newly recruited teachers to start asking for transfers to change from rural areas to urban areas two months into employment, Zambia National Education Coalition (ZANEC) Executive Director George Hamusunga has said.
Mr Hamusunga has asked the Ministry of Education to issue a directive to all the schools to the effect that they are not supposed to allow any transfers to newly recruited teachers until they have served for three years.
“We are aware that teacher selection was very objective and based on the needs of the schools and the guidelines were very clear on when to give transfers so such requests should not be entertained,” Mr Hamusunga said.
He said ZANEC is yet to conduct a study to establish the distribution of teachers to various schools as well as to review whether there is true value of the investment in the teacher recruitment.
This is uncceptable two months into employment and they want transfer if they ask just dismiss them and replise them with other that’s why they adviced to apply to areas where they live to avoid such
But why are they requesting for transfers when they applied to the specific districts
This is too early mwebantu. If they don’t want replace them.
I thought this issue was tackled during recruitment exercise because each one applied where he/she was comfortable.
Who told them to apply where they don’t leave, stay there because you lied
Balasobana , when others were willing to work anywhere but were left out
