WE will do everything possible to see to it that we land fuel in Zambia at a cheaper cost, President Hakainde Hichilema has vowed.
President Hichilema returned from Namibia yesterday where he, among other things, visited the Walvis Bay Dry Port to familiarise himself with operations of the facility which he said is a significant facilitator to the economic growth and trade for Zambia, Namibia and the SADC Region.
He was also accorded an opportunity to speak at the Zambia – Namibia Business Forum, which was hosted by the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), in Swakopmund, Erongo Region during Namibia’s annual Swakopmund International Trade Expo (SWAiTEX).
At the conclusion of his visit with a tour of NAMCOR, Namibia’s oil jetty facility at the Port of Walvis Bay. President Hichilema said Zambia must get cheaper fuel through working together with countries like Namibia.
“We visited the Walvis Bay Dry Port to familiarise ourselves with the operations of this very critical facility that is a significant facilitator to the economic growth and trade for Zambia, Namibia and the SADC Region.
“We also undertook a tour of NAMCOR, Namibia’s oil jetty facility at the Port of Walvis Bay to appreciate its operations. We will do everything possible to see to it that we land fuel in Zambia at a cheaper cost,” Mr. Hichilema said.
