KULAMBA KUBWALO ROLLS BACK TO LIFE

By Scoop Reporter

THE Lenje Royal Establishment has announced that the Kulumba Kubwalo Traditional ceremony of the Lenje people of Central Province will take place from Wednesday 3rd November to Saturday, 5th November, 2022.

According to Christopher Mutemwa, the Secretary of the Lenje Royal Establishment, this year’s event is very important considering that the ceremony has not been held in the last two years owing to the Covid 19 pandemic that disrupted many activities.

Kulamba Kubwalo Traditional Ceremony is celebrated at Likonde Lya Ba Nkanga shrine where the mother of the Lenje Chief was buried. The ceremony is held to pay homage to Senior Chief Mukuni Ng’ombe and other Lenje chiefs for their good leadership.

It is also a thanks giving ritual to God for a good harvest and accords chiefs an opportunity to evaluate food security and other developmental projects in their respective chiefdoms.
