Green Economy and Environment Minister Collins Nzovu has implored the Zambian mission in Paris to place economic diplomacy at the centre of their work by promoting investment and trade opportunities.
Mr Nzovu said the Zambian Embassy in Paris should derive enough value for the country by forging stronger ties and partnerships with the host country and cooperating partners for the benefit of Zambia.
During a meeting with diplomats at the chancery in Paris, Mr Nzovu, said the mission is strategically positioned to ensure that they collaborate with institutions who can help to transform Zambia’s economy to green and mitigate the effects of climate change.
Mr Nzovu urged the embassy staff to align themselves with the government’s vision in order to achieve the country’s development agenda.
He emphasised the need for the staff to be united, work hard and serve the country diligently.
He further urged the mission to help actualise the investment opportunities in Zambia by making follow ups on various signed Memoranda of Understanding to ensure that the agreements are actualised.
And Zambia’s Ambassador to France Dr Christine Kaseba Sata says the good governance in Zambia coupled with the fight against corruption has made it possible to market Zambia to would be investors.
Dr. Kaseba further said the number of French companies has steadily risen in the past few years and presently there are now over 50 French companies in various sectors such as renewable energy, manufacturing, transport, tourism, agriculture and services.
The mission is utilising these companies as envoys to woo other companies to set up businesses in Zambia due to the investment potential they have witnessed.
