DECENTRALIZATION of physical and online mental health services in the country will help save lives, Zambia National Men’s Network for Gender and Development National Coordinator, Nelson Banda has said.
Mr Banda says amid increasing cases of Covid 19, Cholera and the cost of living, many citizens have shown signs of stress which requires the country to develop effective mechanisms of enhancing access to mental health services for counselling.
He feels that some mental services being provided at Chainama Mental Hospital should be well decentralized if more citizens suffering from mental illnesses are to be captured.
Mr Banda says Zambia should not relent in talking and finding solutions for mental health challenges as it has potential to undermine efforts of attaining socio economic development.
