GOVERNMENT should utilize more of the retired workforce in terms of finding solutions to various economic challenges, says Retirees Welfare Bureau of Zambia (RWBZ) chairperson Geoffrey Chiyesu.
Mr. Chiyesu says many retired workers and entrepreneurs have advanced technical and managerial skills, extensive work and industry experience and well-developed professional networks which can still be utilized in building a resilient economy.
Speaking to The Scoop, Mr. Chiyesu has underscored the need for the Government to engage more with retired workforce in policy as well as governance dialogues to help build an inclusive economy and enhance the flow of developmental information.
“I am retired currently but that does not mean I cannot contribute to the growth of the nation; more retired persons need to continue being engaged for the benefit of the country at large” Mr. Chiyesu said.
