I’M NOT USING LUNGU FOR MY POLITICAL CAREER, SAYS EMMANUEL MWAMBA

By Felix Mutambo

I AM not using former president Edgar Lungu’s public appearances to champion my political career, Patriotic Front (PF) presidential aspirant Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba has said.

Speaking to The Scoop yesterday, Amb. Mwamba refuted claims by some sections of society that he is using Mr. Lungu’s public appearances to gain political mileage by parading him in public places to make public statements.

He says he does not understand why the public is condemning Mr. Lungu for attending a church service.

“The (former) president just wants to go to church. I do not understand where the problem is. (former) president Lungu is Zambia’s sixth president and can engage in other activities,” Amb Mwamba said.

He has wondered why the United Party for National Development (UPND) is having pressure from a person who is merely attending a church service and that the ruling party should not be intimidated by Mr. Lungu’s public appearance as he is the former president that should be free to engage in other activities such going to church.
