WE are not scared of losing the 2026elections to former President Edgar Lungu should he decide to bounce back into active politics and recontest because we have defeated him before with a landslide victory, the United Party for National Development (UPND) has said.
UPND deputy Secretary General, Getrude Imenda, yesterday told The Scoop that her party is confident of winning the2026 elections based on what it has achieved since forming Government.
“We can’t get scared of the opposition. We are the ruling party. Why should we be scared of Lungu if he decides to recontest? We are confident that by the time we leave, this country will be a better place to live in and people will not look for the return of those who blundered,” Ms. Imenda said.
She says Zambians are already convinced of being in the right hands adding that the Government is working tirelessly to ensure that citizens benefit from achievable promises the ruling party made to the electorates. “We are not looking back but going forward. Kulibe Dununa Reverse because we have already crossed the Red Sea. The Zambian people are moving forward and they are not going back to Egypt.
“So far, we have given free education, CDF is empowering communities, we have paid retirees, we have employed 30, 000 teachers and 11, 000 health workers which has never happened not even during the Kaunda era. We are not scared of Lungu. We are working like ants and before you realize it, an anthill will be made. Watch this pace,” she bragged.
